noun – the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.

Time, in the outer environment, picked up by physics, is operationally defined as “what a clock reads”. That is the measurement of time.  That is not time itself.

We use the notion of “time” to place events or activities in sequence one after the other, and we use “time” to compare how long events last. Meaning, we introduce relativity into existence.

For something that everyone experiences intimately, until you ask them to tell you about it, time is still a mystery. There’s no aspect of time that we truly understand.

Through Einstein’s discoveries, in his theory of general relativity, we know that space and time are connected, establishing the experience of our universe in four dimensions, also referred to as space-time.

Our experience of the temporal dimensions, or the past, the present, and the future is just an illusion, when in fact time exists all at once. Everything is. But unlike special dimensions, within which we can move freely, we seem to be bounded by this temporal enigma, always experiencing only one slide of space-time, which we call the “now”, or “the present moment”. We are however always moving forward in time, from what we see as the past, towards what we see as the future.

We call this linearity, the arrow of time.

As human beings, we have never experienced in reality what we call the past or the future unless we have engaged our thinking and traveled in other temporal dimensions, which are stored in our minds. The only true moment that is available to us, to engage, to activate in, to use, is the now.

Another attribute of time is that it is not experienced the same by everyone and is strongly influenced by gravity, which makes time go slower for those who are closer to a strong gravitational force, in relation with someone who is farther from the gravitational pull. However, the experience of the temporal dimension is subjective and lasts the same for both parties. Science confirmed this by using highly accurate atomic clocks. They found out that if they place an atomic clock higher, further from earth’s gravity time moved a little bit faster.

Time is relative. It can stretch and it can squeeze, but it can’t run backward in the Newtonian world unless a speed that defies gravity is exerted, and space-time linearity is broken, creating what Einstein and Rosen discovered through mathematical equations as the Einstein-Rosen bridge, or wormhole.

Even though they are called “theories” by society or other scientists, everything we experience in our minds shall come to pass. In our present world, facts, even though they seem to be set in stone, they are only a temporal confirmation of a larger group of people, that together have agreed it is a valid truth. However, as history has shown, those facts will sooner or later be replaced by new discoveries, as the mind naturally is drawn for bigger and greater, and more accurate results.

In Newton’s classical physics laws, the apple was pulled by the gravitational force of the earth, towards the center of the planet. Yet there are yogis levitating, defying gravity, and canceling that well-known physical law. People from the 1500s could not have thought of the smartphone or the electric car, because it was not discovered yet. The smartphone and all the present discoveries were there to be discovered, yet there wasn’t anyone looking for them. For their reality, this was later called Science-Fiction.

Science-Fiction, as defined by, “is a form of fiction that deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science upon society or individuals.”

Fiction is something in the imagination of the thinker. But in time, what was once fiction, has turned into matter and reality.

Quantum jumps cannot be fully comprehended by society at large, as intermittent steps are required to avoid mass hysteria, until a time when society is mature enough to comprehend complex notions about our scope here in the 3D Newtonian world, in which we experience reality through the body and its sensors.

Perception of time

Before continuing, write down your experiences with the time, as perception.

When you are restless, how time doesn’t move.

When you are sad, time is long.

When you are happy, time flies.

Time is slow when you wait, time is fast when you are late.

Time is deadly when you are sad.

Time is short when you are happy.

Time is endless when you are in pain.

Time is long when you feel bored.

About these perceptions, only when you experience the reality (that is called experience), everything else then is intellectually understood of being only perception. All the people who are in delusion, if they accept, agree on something common, that is called fact. One person that is waking up from the delusion, sees something a little higher than the common understanding. Amongst the deluded people, he sees truth. When he’s fully out, and experiences existence, that is reality.

So your perception about time, write elaborately at least two incidents, where you perceived time as too long, too short, time literally flies, time was just not moving. Try to recollect those memories and pen them down.

Every thought happens between past and future. Every thought is as simple as having a cup of coffee or as complicated as political or corporate strategizing. Thought means movement between past and future.

On space, the whole time happens.

Space is the most subtle matter on which the play of time happens.

Your existence represents the moments of thought that jump between the past and the future.

Till you know your real reality, everything that you know about you is your thinking, or the temporal (time) jumps.

Is there anything you know about yourself, more than your thinking? That’s a good question to ponder over today.

Everything you know about yourself is all based on your thinking. So your thinking is your reality, as of now. It is all about you jumping into the past and future, past and future, past and future. That is your thinking, that is what you call as you.

And what is you, is much beyond that what you call you. Now, what you call you are all the moments of thought trips jumping from past and future.

Allow this understanding to set in your system. This comprehension can wake you up.

When you jump from past to future, past to future, past to future, you also pick up the visualizations of the past, and you project it on the future, as it is an altered way. Both are bondage.

Don’t allow others from the outside to have power over you. Whether you allow the past to be repeated in the future, or you allow your past to be repeated in an altered way in your future, the smell of the past destroys the future.

The past, the visualization you carry from the past, and project it on the future, whether altered or as it is. If you allow the past to be projected on the future, in a default way, then that is what your future will be like. Many people who think the future is decided, they allow their default past to enter into the default future. Default past enters and becomes the default future, then you are a default person. Some of the concepts we carry – past, future, where is my role – then you have this understanding. You allow your past to become your default future. This is one level of perception.

Picking up the past, altering and projecting it on the future, where you think you have the freedom to write or rewrite your own future, is not the ultimate level.

At this level, at least you are awake.
