How to Concentrate on Work in Office?
What is Concentration?
How to Concentrate on Work in Office?. Concentration is the ability to keep constant awareness of one thing, for an extended period of time.
Humans have the ability to concentrate to solve a problem in a shorter period of time. Concentration requires highly evolved willpower.
A sportsman can tell you the difference between a moment of loss of focus, that gets them from the first place to the second place. A moment of slippery and victory is given to someone else.
It is the process that 99% of the population cannot constantly keep in their life, otherwise, the whole world would be a better place.
Andrew Carnegie revealed his secret of success that landed him hundreds of millions of dollars. And he said: “I can keep my mind focused on something for five minutes at a stretch.” Just five minutes at a time are enough to solve any problem that we experience in our reality. You can ask yourself, can you do that?
Everyone thinks they can do that and many of you will start the experiment. But a small number or maybe none of you will be able to focus your mind on anything for even a few seconds. This is the nature of the mind, it is restless.
The concept comes from Hindu monks who call the untrained mind, the monkey mind.

The mind loves to wander and jump from one dimension to another. From the present moment to the past or the future. If the awareness drifts from one thing to another, then the process is called distraction. And so, a creative thinking process is started and soon after, it is abandoned and left to die by jumping to another thought current that fills the mind.
Andrew Carnegie in an interview with Dale Carnegie told him, “Controlled attention magnetizes the thoughts, aims, and purposes, thus causing one to be always in search of every necessary thing that is related to one’s dominating thoughts.”
Mr. Carnegie said: “The average person puts only 25% of his energy and ability into his work. The world takes off its hat to those who put in more than 50% of their capacity, and stands on its head for those few and far between souls who devote 100%.”
We have all experienced the moment when our dominating thoughts are aligned on something we want to achieve. And we invariably achieve it. A burning desire is required to focus the mind.
It is the same process as using a magnifier to concentrate the power of the sun and heat a point to a level that starts the process that we call fire.
To keep your mind focused on something for five minutes at a time is a great skill and one that pays rewards throughout life.

Dandapani, a Hindu priest, entrepreneur, international speaker, and former monk of 10 years, in collaboration with Jim Kwik, a brain coach that I study and follow, share key steps into achieving a focused mind and stretching that span to encompass more and more seconds every single time. If you are reading a book for example, and the attention starts drifting away, your eyes will keep the momentum and will decode the words on the paper. However, your awareness has left the physical body on a thought trip. We call that moment not being present. The thing here is that you have left the body to process a thought that showed up that has distracted you from the main goal. This is the reason why repetition is required when acquiring knowledge.
If you imagine your mind as a sausage machine that can only process one sausage at a time, you will understand better how the mind should be directed to create the desired outcome.
Training your mind to stay focused requires constant attention and observation and it’s not a process that is developed within a week or a month. This process is an ongoing activity that must be carried until it becomes automatic, a paradigm.
You do not need to read a complete book about concentration. You only have to have mental triggers that remember you the reason why you are on this path of self-development. How to Concentrate on Work in Office?
Start from the moment you wake up and set your intention that today you will be more focused and will not allow distraction or waves of activity from the outside world to disrupt your awareness.
Whatever you do, no matter how small or large the project, you do it one step at a time.
Do you have a meeting? Focus on the presentation and leave your laptop closed.
Are you having a date? Focus solely on the person in front of you. Movement tends to draw the attention of the eyes, therefore put yourself in a place where there is not much movement to distract you.
Are you working on a presentation? Close all the notifications, emails, songs, and other buzzes that create psychological triggers or hooks that draw your attention away from your goal.
A nice movie and popcorn? What takes priority? The chewing of the popcorn, the movement of your hand to pick up and drop the popcorn in your mouth, or the movie and its message. As multiple processes are running, confusion sets in, and you are neither focused on the food, nor the movie.
Setting the intention is amplified by writing in your journal every morning the fact that you are working to improve your focus and you are doing it because of the benefits that it will generate in your life.
At the end of the day, write in again in your journal and reflect upon what you have experienced that day. What distracted you. What kept you focused? What methods have you used to pull your awareness back in the present moment? Write down everything that you can remember. Introspection is key in the process of self-development.
The simplest way to start working on your concentration is to know why you are doing this. What is the reason? Will the benefits outweigh the effort required?
Benefits of Concentration – How to Concentrate on Work in Office?
When you are in a restaurant with a boyfriend, a girlfriend, a friend, or a family member, and you engage in conversation, and all of a sudden you start thinking about the fact that you are tired, you want to get home and sleep, you feel the pressure exerted by your job, or a worry about the future, and then you say: “I’m sorry, what were you saying?”
Concentration keeps you in the present moment, which from a quantum perspective, is the only moment in which you can actually create anything that you desire. It is the moment of absolute control.
Keeping the concentration on the present moment engages the laws of nature and stops your mind from wandering into the future to create scenarios that induce worry stress and anxiety. At the same time, it also limits your mind from tapping into the records of the past and experiencing moments of lack, limitation, betrayal, jealousy, the self-doubt of past actions, and many other feelings that change your present state of being, or vibration.
Developing concentration helps improve memory, as the brain records the information expressed in the present moment using all of your sensors – visual, audio, olfactory, haptic, and gustatory perceptions.
Inner strength and self-confidence also receive a boost by having control over the processes that run the mind, and knowing that average people cannot do that, empowers you to achieve extraordinary things.
